Yukon is my first dog (as an adult) and I couldn’t have asked for a more special buddy. I adopted him from the local Humane Society in March of 2007 as an 8 month old gangly, goofy pup and he’s been my heart dog ever since. He might be just a plain black dog but he is bursting with personality and is just plain fun. He lives for frisbee, food and swimming!
Mira is a nutty little Australian Shepherd that spent the first couple years of her life locked in a barn stall. I guess her original family didn’t research the breed as they locked her up because she was herding the neighbor’s horses (really, who’d have thunk it – a herding dog…herding). I adopted her in December of 2007 – she was a shell of a dog, scared of a lot of things. She still has a number of hangups but she’s now an insanely hyper dog, full of personality and impossible to keep up with. She keeps us all very busy, life would be quite dull without her! She has an intense obsession with all things round and can be found obsessively herding all of us around the house.
Oh gosh, now for me…I’m a stubborn independent girl (err…woman, I guess I am 39) raised in rural Michigan. By day I’m a lab nerd, working in a mid-size hospital – as a Microbiologist. By night (and weekend and time off), I’m a photography loving, motorcycling riding, outdoor junky with perpetually itchy feet.
